On February 6th, 2023, a devastating earthquake struck the region of Turkey and Syria, claiming over 53,537 lives. In response, Third Pillar felt a profound responsibility to act. With the grace of Allah SWT and your generous donations, we were able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of 2000 families affected by the disaster.

Through your contributions, we raised approximately $496,171 and deployed multiple teams to ensure that aid reached those most in need. Our initial focus was on providing immediate assistance, including temporary shelter in the city of Adiyaman, where we established a tent community. We also facilitated the procurement of essential items, including heating equipment for the tents.

Recognizing the critical need for mental health support, we took a significant step forward by helping develop and fund the first mental health clinic in Adiyaman. Since its establishment, the clinic has been able to serve around 150 patients monthly, offering crucial psychological support to those traumatized by the disaster.

As our efforts evolved, we shifted our focus to providing food supplies to families living in the tent communities, with a particular emphasis on Syrian families who have faced multiple displacements in the past decade. Looking ahead, we aspire to continue supporting Syrian families in Turkey by providing essential medical assistance.
